Four players Fleadh Sculpture 2010

Each of the four 'towers' are abstract representations of music players while also acting as instrument in their own right. The base and lid of each tower are joined with different, non-structural materials, each representing different instrument types, categories and materials. They are wood, string, brass and canvas hide. These materials and they way in which they are used will allow for each 'tower' to be 'played' in a percussion sense when they are struck or tapped. I hope this interactive element will increase public participation with the sculpture and the arts in general.

The making of the Four Payers sculpture was featured in a documentary for Cavan Arts Office. The section on The four players can be viewed here.
